Epipactis gigantea, known as giant helleborine or stream orchid, is a vigorous, western North American native, easy-to-grow, terrestrial orchid that thrives in moist but well-drained soils in light shade or morning sun. It has showy red, orange and yellow in summer on two foot tall plants. 'Serpentine Night' was discovered in Califonria by Roger Raiche. It has burgundy stems and burgundy-infused to fully burgundy foliage. Forms large colonies when settled in. Photo: Wikipedia
