The blue flower heads of the ultra-compact Eryngium planum 'Blue Hobbit' are surrounded by large frilled blue bracts all in all looking like a thimble crossed with a thistle. The strong stems are also blue near the top. Great for hot, dry sunny spots. Sea hollies can go through a dumb phase after flowering before reflushing a mound of leaves.
