Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Variegata' has thick, sculpted and glossy green leaves with cream variegation.
Description:
This rare and highly desirable giant elephant ear, Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Variegata', is quite different from the better-known Colocasia esculenta. Its variably variegated leaves are thick, sculpted and glossy green with cream and white and are held upright on rigid stems. Every leaf is different. A large specimen is guaranteed to stop garden visitors in their tracks! Reportedly hardy in zone 7b to 8 if the tuber is protected. But why risk it when it makes an excellent and dramatic houseplant?
