Mahonia x media 'Arthur Menzies' is an excellent, statuesque, evergreen shrub for the winter garden with dark green, holly-like leaves, textured bark, and clustered spikes of glowing yellow, fragrant flowers in winter that are especially frost-resistant. Blue to black berries follow. This cultivar originates from Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle.
