Parnassia asarifolia or kidney-leaved grass-of-Parnassus is a delicate and lovely species of wet, shady places in the eastern US. The heart-shaped to kidney-shaped leaves from a low cluster or mound topped in late summer with exquisite pure white flowers with green to grey-green veins and a circle of white and yellow stamens and pistils. Grow in a wet shady place in the garden or a in a pot with equal parts peat and sand sitting in a shallow dish of water as you might grow a Sarracenia.
