Salvia greggii 'Furman's Red' was introduced to cultivation in the 1970s and remains one of the best and most vigorous autumn sage cultivars. It grows 2-3 feet tall and wide with small semi-evergreen, aromatic leaves and masses of bright red flowers from black stamens all summer long. Prefers lean soils and hot, dry conditions or grow in containers. Every pollinator in your city will flock to an autumn sage in bloom.
