Cyrtomium fortunei is the hardiest of the holly ferns remaining evergreen when protected by snow in zone 5. It is a lush, leathery, almost tropical-looking fern with pinnae that resemble holly leaves held on their branches in shades of light green to dull green. Performs well in full shade to part sun.
