Lilium hansonii is a fragrant species rare in cultivation with thick, fleshy, warm yellow flowers speckled brown. It prefers moist, dappled shade beneath deciduous trees and may vary widely in height depending on the winter. In Korea and Japan, it is known as "Gakeshima-Yuri". Known for hybridizing with Lilium martagon, it is a parent of the beloved 'Mrs RO Backhouse'.
