Here's something your friends won't have: sea daffodil (Pancratium maritimum) is a rare bulb native from the Mediterranean basin to the Black Sea where it grows on beaches and coastal dunes. It has long, strap-like leaves and gorgeous, intricate, daffodil-like flowers in autumn that resemble an icy star. It is lightly fragrant. Perhaps best grown in a pot with good drainage. Place it in a hot spot to encourage flowering.
