From the Happy Single series, Dahlia 'First Love' has apricot, yellow, and red single flowers over burgundy foliage.
Description:
Inspired by the doomed lovers Romeo and Juliet, this series is ironically and strangely called the Happy Single Series. At least our love affair with burgundy-leaved dahlias will continue. Collect the whole series for a Shakespearean extravaganza! 'First Love' has single, apricot flowers with a yellow flush and a thin red accent around the centre of the dark-brown heart. The foliage is burgundy. Long-blooming from June to fall. Dahlia are hardy to coastal BC's winter temperatures but not to winter wet. Protect from rain in free-draining soils, plant in pots that can be moved and protected, or lift and store in a cool, dry, frost free location. They are moderately deer resistant.
