Mountain mint is relatived to beebalm. It has white summer pincushions filled with nectar for bees and butterflies.


Description:
An interesting eastern North American native covered in white pincushions over a long period in summer. Appalachian mountain mint is an excellent nectar source for native butterflies and bees. Shorter than P. muticum, it also has aromatic foliage that takes on red tinges along the margins. This species spreads slowly by underground rhizomes but will not overrun the garden.
