Lysimachia lanceolata var. purpurea is a tough and adaptable species with long, linear leaves infused with burgundy creating an amazing textural effect on stems to two feet tall blooming with starry, lemon yellow flowers all summer long. Lance-leaved loosestrife spreads rhizomatously, though not invasively, with drifts expanding each year. It is a great upright groundcover tolerant of dry and moist soils and heat and humidity. Bees and butterflies will also be fans.
