Description:
'Plum Passion Improved' is a gorgeous lacecap hydrangea with burgundy foliage. The leaves emerge green flushed with purple and then age to a deep, lustrous purple with rosy purple undersides. The flowers are whimsical lacecaps with blue and/or pink flowers depending on the soil pH. The tops of the foliage turn yellow in fall but maintain the purple undersides. Hydrangea aspera is a widespread and variable species that grows across a wide range from the Himalayas across southern China to Taiwan.
