Description:
Alstroemeria 'Indian Summer' has flowers in sunset shades of coppery-orange and golden-yellow streaked and freckled with dark burgundy atop luscious burgundy-bronze, linear foliage. A vigorous, tropical-looking plant with flowers that are long lasting when cut and the capacity to produce loads of flowers over a long period from early summer well into fall. It forms a bushy, upright clump. Prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soils. Hardy to zone 6 but recent trials have been hardy in zone 5 Colorado suggesting even greater hardiness! A deep winter mulch of fallen leaves is recommended.
