Acer palmatum 'Twombly's Red Sentinel' is a Japanese maple prized for its dense, upright, columnar habit. Spring foliage emerges bright red gradually turning to purple-red with green hints as the season progresses before turning brilliant red with orange hues in the fall. This shrub or small tree reaches heights of 10-15 feet with a spread of 7-8 feet making it perfect for vertical appeal and tight spaces as a specimen, and in small gardens and containers. Tolerates full sun but best leaf colour is achieved in partial shade. For the 2024 Rare Flowering Tree Pre-Order plants will be in 1g pots and about 2-3 feet tall.
