Cypripedium 'Paul' has creamy white or creamy yellow slippers etched beautifully with brick red with twisted, red tepals.
Description:
'Paul' is a hybrid between the North American Cypripedium parviflorum var. parviflorum and the Chinese C. franchetii. This cross gives plants with two possible colour variations: lips will be creamy white or creamy yellow onto which is etched beautifully contrasting brick red stripes and speckles with twisted, red sepals. 'Paul' will reach 35 cm (13 inches) in height and is suitable for the front of the orchid bed. Flowering season is the second half of May. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Lady's slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year!
