'Fire Island' has brilliant yellow leaves that emerge on red petioles in spring. Red extends from the petiole base up into the leaves hinting at a current direction in breeding: to develop a red-leaved Hosta! The foliage darkens to chartreuse in summer. Lavender flowers are held on bright red scapes. A vigorous grower.
