Bouteloua gracilis 'Blonde Ambition' has chartreuse flowers that mature to blonde seed heads that are held like jaunty pennants on stiff stems over blue-green foliage. The flowers reach heights of about 30 to 36 inches which the breeder, David Salman from High Country Gardens, says suggests a bit of hybrid vigour. Blue gramma grass is a distinctive, textural addition to the full sun border.
