Clematis alpina 'Stolwijk's Gold' has unique gold foliage and perfect blue flowers for contrast. The early blooming alpinas are great for kicking off a year of clematis in the garden with blooms emerging in early spring. Alpinas can be grown from bright shade to full sun and used as a climber, rambler or ground cover. Their delicate flowers are followed by attractive, silky seed heads. They are one of the hardiest and easiest of all species to grow. Pruning group A.
