Bletilla ochracea is a rare species of terrestrial orchid from Japan that produces elegant, cattleya-like, yellow flowers with red markings on the white lip. The flowers are held in groups of three to seven on stems rising to 12 inches. The leaves are arching, broad and grass-like. Best in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil.
