Fuchsia magellanica ‘Riccartoni’

('productnameshort')

Description:
This hardy fuchsia has green foliage and bright magenta red flowers. The flowers grace the arching stems in profusion throughout the summer. Fuchsia magellanica is native to Chile where I have seen it forming small trees with thick trunks. In our climate it tends to be a semi-evergreen, multi-stemmed shrub to about three feet. In most winters the woody stems overwinter. This species is the most reliably hardy of all fuchsia and will always come back from the base. Hummingbirds love this plant.
