Trillidium (Trillium) govanianum is a rare Himalayan species of mid to high elevation forests.
Description:
The exact relationship between Himalayan trillium and the rest of the primarily North American genus Trillium is still being studied. Some researchers place this species within the genus Trillium and others believe it is different enough to warrant its very own genus, Trillidium. For our purposes this is an intriguing and rare woodland treasure with small red-purple petals and green sepals held above a trio of leaves. Will form a clump with time. Hardiness is unknown but it should have good hardiness as it reaches the subalpine of the Himalayas.
