Crinum campanulatum has tropical-looking, fragrant, amaryllis-like flowers that can be white or pink, deepening with age.
Description:
Crinum campanulatum is a rare species of crinum lily from South Africa that grows to just over two feet tall. It has very tropical-looking, fragrant, amaryllis-like flowers in late spring or summer that can be white or suffused with shades of rose pink that deepen as the flowers age. The strap-like leaves can be up to three feet long. It grows in seasonally moist areas of the summer rainfall region of the Eastern Cape. When in active growth in spring and summer it often grows in standing water but in winter the bulbs experience drought. Grow it in a pot that sits in a saucer that you keep filled with water or as a marginal plant in a pond. In winter protect it in a frost free location and allow the soil to go completely dry. Easy! Our nursery-grown bulbs are adult blooming size as of 2023.
