Hyacinthoides non-scripta is the fabled English bluebell.
Description:
The fabled common or English bluebell is much beloved in the UK for forming carpets of blue in bluebell woods across the country. It differs from the more commonly-grown Spanish bluebell (H. hispanica) by having an arching rather than upright stem, darker blue flowers with more recurved petal tips, and a beautiful fragrance. H. hispanica and H. non-scripta readily hybridize so if you have both in your garden, don't allow them to set seed unless you want hybrids.
