Ornamental onions offer intriguing spherical or egg-shaped inflorescences comprised of hundreds of tiny flowers. Allium vineale 'Hair' is an oddball cultivar with strange purple-red clusters with little yellow flowers and long, green, hair-like extensions. Great as a cut flower.
