Description:
Athyrium niponicum 'Aubergine Lady' is a new and unique Japanese painted fern with green fronds maturing to deep purple-black, the darkest fern on the market! The growth habit is upright and arching, 12 to 18 inches tall with a 12 to 24 inch spread. Provides a spectacular and graceful contrast to lighter toned perennials. Grow in evenly moist, well-drained soil. Ideal for mass planting, in the woodland or shade garden, by streams or ponds, and in containers.
