Tolmeia menziesii is a fast-growing BC native known as piggyback plant that graces the shady spaces of the west coast. It is related to Heuchera and has a similar habit with airy spike of reddish flowers that are quite small but intricately beautiful up close. The common name comes from its habit of producing young plantlets that sit on top of the mature foliage before falling to the ground to root in. Photo: Wikipedia.
