Sorghastrum nutans 'Golden Sunset' is a tall and vertical clumping yellow prairie grass with golden flower spikes.
Description:
Sorghastrum nutans 'Golden Sunset' is a dramatic yellow prairie grass that offers a similar vertical and columnar form as Calamgrostis 'Karl Foerster' but larger. Wide, olive-green leaves form the attractive base from which numerous, tall, 5-6 feet flowering stems emerge later in the season with long 10-12 inch wheat-like seedheads. A sturdy cultivar that remains attractive well into the winter season. Use in the sunny border for vertical appeal as a specimen or privacy screen, in containers, and as cut or dried flower. Deer and rabbit resistant.
