Sarracenia 'Bug Bat' is a carnivorous pitcher plant with red flowers and hoods atop tall, chartreuse-green pitchers.


Description:
Sarracenia are the carnivorous pitcher plants native to North America. 'Bug Bat' is hybrid with tall, 16 inch high, striking cobra-like pitchers with cinnamon-red hoods that taper into chartreuse green. White speckling, areoles (windows) cover the upper back part of each pitcher. The flowers are dark red and fragrant. A very vigorous plant that quickly forms dense colonies. Prefers open, sunny and boggy conditions. Holds its colour into frost. Requires constant moisture. Do not fertilize. Perfect for the boggy garden and in containers. Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant. Hardy to zone 5b.
