Rubus idaeus 'Nova'

('productnameshort')

Rubus idaeus 'Nova' is a short, cold hardy, everbearing raspberry with firm, bright red berries on nearly spineless canes.

Description:
Rubus idaeus 'Nova' is a high yielding, cold hardy, disease resistant, everbearing raspberry developed in Nova Scotia for northern gardens. White blossoms in spring give way to medium-sized, bright red firm berries. Virorous, upright, 3-4 foot canes are nearly spineless, are vigorous and with long, fruiting laterals. Expect two crops per season on each biannual cane. Fruit ripens first on old wood and then again in late summer on the current year's canes. Requires organically rich, moist but well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Yield will be higher in full sun. Remove fruited canes after fruiting to encourage new canes. Enjoy fresh, frozen, canned, and baked. Attracts bees and wildlife.
