Rubus idaeus 'Black' is a rare, summer-bearing raspberry with white blooms in the spring followed by large, firm and delicious dark purple to black berries in summer. This cultivar is cold hardy, reliable, disease resistant, and has good resistance to root rot. Expect a large summer crop on strong, thorny and vigorous 6 foot tall canes. Remove fruited canes after fruiting to encourage new canes. Enjoy fresh, frozen, canned, and baked. Attracts bees and wildlife.
