Description:
Iris japonica 'Aphrodite' is rare species known as fringed or crested variegated iris. It has delicate, orchid-like flowers that display ruffled white petals with fringed margins with pale blue markings and prominent yellow crests on the falls. Flowers are 2 inches in diametre and bloom late spring to early summer. The evergreen foliage is thin with sword-shaped basal leaves that grow in fans with downward arching tips. Naturalizes easily. Use in beds, borders, rock gardens, and containers. Deer resistant. Possibly hardy to zone 6..
