Cypripedium 'Axel' has medium sized flowers with a creamy pouch and beautiful, dark burgundy-magenta twisted petals.
Description:
Cypripedium 'Axel' is an impressive lady's slipper perfect for beginners as it is even more vigorous than the famous 'Gisela'. It is a cross of the North American C. parviflorum with its bright yellow, narrow slippers and twisted burgundy petals and the Asian C. tibeticum with its dramatic, round magenta pouches and white and magenta striped petals. 'Axel' is intermediate in form compared to its parents with a creamy pouch and beautiful, dark burgundy-magenta twisted petals. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical. Lady's slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Well cared for clumps can double their flowering stems ever year! Blooming size. More info on our Frosch Cypripedium: www.cypripedium.de.
