Description:
Hydrangea quercifolia 'Sikes Dwarf' is a compact oakleaf hydrangea that produces a profusion of fragrant, upright creamy white, conical flower heads with pink overtones on a compact, 4 foot mounding form. The stems are strong and upright with peeling bark. Foliage is deeply loped and turns to burgundy in fall remaining on the plants long into the season. A slow growing shrub of great beauty and one of the few hydrangeas not native to Asia, in this case hailing from the southeastern US. Somewhat drought tolerant. Use as an accent piece, mass planting, or as a thriller in a container.
