Punica granatum 'A.C. Sweet' produces fruit that is red to bright pink in colour and very sweet. The gorgeous orange-red blooms provide a subtropical look. It has great hardiness to zone 6. This is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub that grows up to 10 feet but is easy to keep smaller by pruning. Pomegranates require lots of sun and heat to bloom and fruit. They are self fertile and leaf out in late spring.
