Description:
Asparagus officinalis 'Eclipse' is a perennial vegetable of the highest order. The king of the vegetables, this cultivar offers high yields even in its first year! An early season, male dominate, hybrid variety that is well suited for cool climates. The green spears are thicker than other standard varieties and stands up well in challenging weather conditions. Use cooked, steamed, pickled and raw. Asparagus is a heavy feeder and needs rich manure or compost along with a regular fertilizing regime. Regular asparagus can take three growing seasons to harvest. Deer resistant.
