Clematis montana 'Fragant Spring' has masses of 2.5-3.5 inch (6-9 cm) wide clear pink fragrant blooms that smell of vanilla. Grow in a sunny position to enhance the perfume. Vigorous and easy to grow, this species is one of the most prolific plants available for the garden and can create one of the most memorable of all floral displays each spring. Plant it to grow against a house, on a pergola, or up a tree. Pruning group A.
