Passiflora caerulea ‘Blue Bahama’ is a passion flower that has white flowers with a light purple-blue halo.
Description:
Passiflora caerulea ‘Blue Bahama’ is a hardy passion flower that is highly floriferous with large 4-5 inch blooms encompassing white sepals and petals and topped by a crown of white filaments with a light purple to blue halo surrounding the centre. Vines can grow 15 to 20 feet. Hardy in coastal BC, especially against a south facing wall or fence. Bury the stem 4 inches deep to improve hardiness in well-drained soil that is not too moist or too rich to promote more flowers and less greenery. Produces edible yet tasteless yellow fruit if cross pollinated by another species or cultivar. Blooms on new wood. Can be grown as a houseplant.
