Rubus idaeus 'Red River' is one of the smaller raspberries with canes to just 3 feet tall producing delicious, sweet and juicy red berries from mid to late summer. Best in full sun. Provide organically rich, moist but well-drained soils. Canes, which are covered in thorns, produce fruit in their 2nd year. Remove canes after fruiting to encourage new growth. Probably hardy to zone 2. Enjoy fruit fresh, frozen, canned, or baked.
