Allium rosenbachianum is an early-blooming member of the large globe ornamental onions from the Himalayas. It has four inch wide, dark violet spheres on stems to three feet tall. Few plants can offer the unique flower forms of ornamental onions. Every garden should have Allium. Plant in multiples of 3, 5, 7 or more. Don't fret when foliage starts to die back just before flowering. It's normal. Just trim the leaves.
