Iris histrioides 'Katharine Hodgkin' is a very special early spring-blooming iris (February in coastal BC) with icy blue flowers detailed with royal blue, yellow, and white. The flowers seem lit from within on a grey late winter day. Use at the front of the border or in rock or gravel gardens or other areas with good drainage.
