Nectaroscordum tripedale is a rare onion relative that forms loose umbels of bell-shaped, glowing, light pink flowers on tall stems.


Description:
Nectaroscordum tripedale is a rare onion relative related to and more beautiful than the Sicilian honey garlic (Nectaroscordum siculum ssp. bulgaricum). It forms loose umbels of delicate, hanging, bell-shaped flowers atop 3-4 foot tall leafless stems. The flowers are white and light glowing pink with dark pink near the centre of each flower. The leaves are long and strap-like, triangular in cross section and twisting as they rise. Bulbs rarely, if ever, offset and must be produced from seed which take 5-7 years to reach blooming size.
