Zauschneria arizonica is a large mounding subshrub with grey-green leaves up to three feet tall that is smothered in hummingbird-adored, tubular, orange-scarlet flowers from late summer into fall. Provide well-drained soil and plant in your dry hot spots where other perennials fear to go.
