Crocus tommasinianus (often referred to as "tommies") is a species from southeastern Europe with a delicate appearance. 'Lilac Beauty' is a selected form with glowing icy lavender petals that are lighter at the base, darkening towards the tips. Orange pistils complete the display. This species is tolerant of shady positions.
