Tatting fern is a most unique form of the lady fern (Athyrium filix-femina) called 'Frizelliae'. It forms short, arching stipes to just one foot long with alternating, half moon shaped, fringed pinnae (leaflets). The effect makes this fern popular and a sure conversation piece.
