Osmunda regalis is a beautiful, large, stately fern with light green foliage that gives a tropical look to the garden with fronds up to four feet long.


Description:
Osmunda regalis is a beautiful, large, stately fern with light green foliage that gives a tropical look to the garden with fronds up to four feet long. 'Purpurascens' is the most striking form with new purple stems and burgundy new growth that eventually fade to green as the huge leaves expand. Great for a shaded garden and moist to average soils. Old specimens develop mounded trunks up to 1-1.5 feet high. Herbaceous. Possibly hardy to zone 2.
