Primula ‘Francisca’

('productnameshort')

Primula 'Francisca' is a fantastic primrose with ruffled green flowers with yellow centres that seem to last forever.

Description:
As the story goes, the late famed local plantswoman Francisca Dart (whose garden Dart's Hill is now a public park and botanical garden) was on a garden tour decades ago when, on a compost pile, she spotted a most unusual discarded primrose with green flowers. She brought it home and nursed it back to health, grew it on, and then shared it with friends. That primrose is now called 'Francisca'. It is absolutely fantastic with ruffled green flowers with yellow centres that last and last and last double or triple the time of other cultivars. An intriguing, long-lived addition to the shade garden or as a conversation piece in a pot! May be hardy to zone 4.
