Primrose jasmine is a rambling, open evergreen shrub or sprawling vine with long, slender, arching stems with glossy dark green leaves. Without support, it grows in a fountainlike mound 5-10 feet in height and spread. With some support you can grow it up a wall or trellis. The fragrant trumpet shaped flowers are borne in early spring and sporadically into summer. They are semidouble and sweetly fragrant. It is similar to J. nudiflorum but this plant blooms earlier.
