Description:
This hybrid of the North American C. kentuckiense and the Asian C. corrugatum (likely synonymous with C. tibeticum) produces large slippers with bold markings of deep fuchsia red atop a white to cream background. The stems can reach 20-50 cm (8-20 in.) high. Flowers will bloom a bit later in the season than other hybrids. Rich soil is required for vigourous growth. The striking flowers have a creamy lip marked with pink and accented by luscious red tepals. Blooms in May to June. Blooming size with multiple eyes. Lady's slipper hybrids are much more vigorous and easy to grow than species. Grown from seed. Plants will resemble the image but may not be identical.
