Description:
Looking for a winner for an average, moist or wet site shady site? Carex socialis is your grass, or, more correctly, sedge! A fantastic North American native that thrives in floodplains, by stream banks, or any wet area and even tolerates clay soil. You'll appreciate its narrow and delicate arching and softly flowing foliage with subtle flower spikes in spring. It will reach 10-12 inches tall 12-24 inches wide. Use as an attractive and valuable evergreen perennial ground cover or lawn alternative, an edger for a moist, shady garden, or for erosion control thanks to its colony-forming rhizomes. Deer resistant.
